Abstract: The study deals with medical care from the perspective of Islam. It treats the relationship between physician and patient and elaborates the aspect of mutual trust. The physician is expected not only to diagnose but also to medicate. The study deals with the question how a physician should deal with fatally ill patients and stresses that a physician is expected to hold out hope though there is little. It defines health and narrates various stories of different patients.
