Abstract: The study deals with diseases of immunodeficiency and adjudgement on how to deal with the infected. It considers the implications of AIDSinfection for the infected concerning social contacts. It defines AIDS and describes the ways of contagion and the different stages of the disease. It treats the implication of AIDS for the family and covers the topic of the right for a HIV test before marriage and of the guardian’s right to inhibit the marriage of his ward to an AIDS patient. It also deals with the implication of AIDS for the marriage and lists reasons to annul the marriage contract. It presents issues such as the right of the wife to get divorced from her AIDS-infected husband, the right for abortion (it is distinguished between the “un-souled” and the “inspired” embryo), contraceptives and breastfeeding. The study also deals with the implications of AIDS for the finances of the patient and for the family law. The last part raises the question whether AIDS is a deadly disease and if so, how is the AIDS patient and his social contacts to be revaluated?
