Mechanical and Microstructural Characterization
In this group, we consolidate those pieces of work that exhibit a strong methodological element. This is where all the sophisticated microscopic and mechanical investigations are concentrated, where deviation from standard procedures is a must and where new ground is broken. Quantitative metallographic examinations play an important part here, in conjunction with light, scanning and especially transmission electron microscopy. This also includes work during the course of which new mechanical investigation procedures are developed and validated.
